Evaluation Entry-
In the production made, I feel that some strength I had achieved much strength, such as being able to use a camera confidently and being able to create a short film in a group, meaning that jobs were equally given and we worked well. I feel that I have made a good short film and worked well in a group. This was done and shown well with the proof of the outcome of the final preliminary excursive.
In our film, we had countered minor errors, such as a not smooth tilt from the worm view, as the camera had stopped momentarily on the knees, as well as camera movement in pov angles. We could have overcome these if we had more time by taking these shots again, making sure that they were more smother and ran more fluently, rather than jiggling around.
If we had a chance to do things differently in the making or planning of our film, then I think we could have talked about the plan in more depth, and with the filming, we could have taken multiple shots of the same scene to pick out the most appealing and suitable for the film, so if there were mistakes in some shots, then we could pick the same scene taken at a different shot that would have been better than the other.
With our audience feedback, we received many good points and a few improvement points. The good points consisted of the sound, the clips, the lighting and the camera shots. The sound and camera shots were the most points made. The improvements consisted of the camera shots, where we had a few minor errors.
Throughout this whole exercise our group has achieved and met our goal and deadline, as we have included all of the brief points and a range of camera shots.

Prodution Entry
Production Entry-
My name is Hannah Gadd; I am studying AS media studies at Gordano School. During the first few lessons of the course, we were asked to create a short film, in this task, we were given the objective to create a short film that consisted of different camera shots, someone opening a door, walking in and having a conversation. In this task I worked in a group of 3, Tom, Sam and myself.
With our short film, we decided on created a film with the genre of spaghetti western. This was because of the way we made the begging seem obvious, yet the ends had a twist. The music used as well was also an advantage of making our film humorous. We went for the whole western comedy side of the film, as it was most appealing and similar to our film.
Equipment we used consisted of a video camera, tripod and whiteboard. The whiteboard was used to show what shots we took and to make it easier when it came to the editing. We used the hallway and media classroom in the schools grounds to make our film.
With the editing of the film, we used ‘iMovie’ on the Mac. It was fairly easy as it was simply made to make editing easy and we were able to delete parts of the film that we didn’t want in our final film. It took almost 3-4 lessons to edit the film, as we had to find music and sound effects that fitted with the film the most.
In the making of the film, we experienced some problems, such as some camera shots taken could have been taken better. Some shots were like the pov angle, as we didn’t use the tripod to gain the actual sight of what the character would have been seeing, but it didn’t really work as it was very shaky and we could have used the tripod to make it slightly smoother.
During the edits of our film, we included some edits, such as an opening, credits and sound. This was all done on iMovie, which made it fairly easy to operate and create the edits to join nicely with the footage.
Throughout the whole preliminary task, I have acquired many skills as I had never made a video in a group before, I had also learnt how to use recording equipment as well as editing and using the Mac. I had also learnt how to create storyboard, digital and hand drawn. I had also learnt how to edit a film on iMovie, which was proven to be very useful and easy.
I feel that I have achieve and fulfilled the brief of the preliminary task, as the task was to have someone opening a door, entering a room and having a conversation. All of these were included in our film.
In the making of this film, I have enjoyed working in a group and learning how to make a video. I have also enjoyed the experience of being featured in a film, even though it wasn’t perfect, as I smiled slightly when I was in the shot. This clearly shows something that I could work on in the next film I make.
