Research
I have looked on 'youtube' for similar effort as what I will be putting into my animation. The most common results that I found was the use of the same and more figures made by 'ffjason'. He has created a few full featured films using these figures, he has created them in parts, so that it shows how much he has spent on each part, as I know that it takes a long time.
He uses a lot of different shots by using photos, which is something I need to know and understand how to create in my film. The different voices that he uses in his film are good and consistent, as each character has their own voice and h uses this consistently in all of his films.
With his films, he also reuses photos that he has already taken, rather than taking more. This means that he can uses a few photos for a long speech. This is another thing I may need to know, to save time. With this, he has been able to create a part of his film lasting to 9-10 minutes.
He has also used a large range of settings, which is something I am using, as I am using the most of the whole of my house in this film, and will include this in my 2 minutes opening.

(Boy is playing with figure, puts it down and walks out the room, closing the door. The figures come to life and help figure)
Tifa: are u OK?
Cloud: what do u think?! I feel like I’m being treated like a toy!
(Cloud stands up)
Sora: um…
(Sora looks down)
Cloud: don’t say anything to that!
Cloud: I'm so sick and tired of those humans playing with us and treating us like toys and making us act they way that they want! It’s about time that we were the ones to control hem!
Aerith: here he goes again…
(Aerith shakes her head)
Cloud: and ill tell you, if I was bigger, they-
(Noises are heard from outside the door. The door opens and a girl walks into get something. Leaves the room but moves Cloud up on the bookshelf and leaves, closing the door.)
Cloud: THAT’S IT!!!!! I’ve had it with those humans! What gives them the right to play with us huh?!
(Other figures help him down with a ladder)
(Cloud calms down and watches TV. Tifa sits on the sofa next to him)
Tifa: so, what are we going to do today?
Aerith: well I don’t know about you lot but im going to go to my fake garden and look after the animals
(Aerith walks off)
Cloud: this is getting boring; can’t she buy any other films? I’m bored. How bout we go on an adventure?
Sora: where to? There aren’t a lot of places we can really go if you haven’t noticed...
Cloud: I mean an adventure around the house
Tifa: are you nuts? How can we get round the house without being seen? You know what will happen if were seen moving around humans
Cloud: relax…everyone is out of the house remember?
Tifa: still…that doesn’t answer how were going to get down from here
(Tifa walks to the edge)
Tifa: if u never really noticed...
Cloud:ever heard of jumping?
Sora: how bout the ladder? That might reach?
(Figures bring the ladder to the edge and put it down)
Tifa: OK..but I'm still not very confident about this…
(Cloud starts climbing down)
Cloud: stop being such a woes..i thought you were always the one up for an adventure?
Tifa: (sigh) fine...
(Sora and Tifa climb down and head for the door with Cloud)
(Cloud looked at a map he drew himself)
Sephiroth: hey?! What about me? Can’t I come?
Cloud:um…no…
(They leave the room and start looking around upstairs in the rooms then start to climb down the stairs)
(The figures reach downstairs and check that the area is clear before entering)
Cloud: see what did I tell you?
Sora: wow..I've only seen down here once..its huge…
Tifa:OK..now what?
Cloud:theres still loads of stuff down there, come on..
(Cloud leads them to the other side of the house and into the kitchen)
Sora: wow. Hard floor…I prefure this, suites my feet more
Tifa: what are u talking about? You have huge feet compared to all of us
Sora: oh yeah, hehe.
Cloud: come on you guys theres more over here…
(The figures see a human downstairs in the kitchen)
Tifa: I thought u said everyone was gone!?
Cloud: well sorry for not always being right!
(The adult looks down at the figures a little shocked)
Sora: now what?
Cloud: just don’t move...
(The adult moves closer to them and tries to catch them with a pot of some kind)
Tifa: are u OK?

(Sora looks down)

1st Day of Filming
24th January, 5.00pm
Georgia and Matt arrive at my house and we start filming the beginning where the boy is playing with the figure.
Take 1
Went well, apart from at the end of the filming, Matt left the room, leaving the door open and stood outside the door looking in, as he was meant to close the door as he left.
Take 2
Went better, apart from I tripped over the tripod and made the camera fall over as it was still filming.
Take 3
Went perfectly as nothing unwanted was featured in the filming.

Title
This is my chosen title for my animation opening. I have decided to create this using Paint, as it was most convenient and allowed me to create a cartoony feel. I used different shapes and colours to achieve this as well, making it more affective. I also used word art to create the end of ‘Adventure’. This was so that it contrasted between the two, showing that this film would be child friendly and also be suitable for adults too. The reason for the use of colours and links between each word in ‘Big’ was so that it would catch the viewer’s eyes, rather than using a boring black or dark shade, making it seem boring and not so interesting.
The title would be shown on either a black background so it stands out, or on a picture of the setting for the figures. This would have to be tested.

Email to Square-Enix
This is my email that i sent to Square-Enix, as i am requesting to use their play arts figures in my animation.
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am asking in query on the bases of your play arts figures. My name is Hannah Gadd and I am studying Media Studies at AS level at Gordano School. We have been given the task in making a 2 minute opening for a film of our choice, from this I have decided to create an animation. For this, I have come to the conclusion of using your figures in my production, as they are the only ones that I own.
I really admire you work and creations, from games to figures. From the first time that I was told about your work, I fell in love with it, it drew me in from the very beginning. From this, I have been collecting your work and admire all of it. I have chosen to use your figures as they are spectacular, the art and way they are made and shown, and they will be of great aid to my project.
I understand that your products are under copyright. However, in the making of my project, I will ensure that your company is mentioned in the credits and I will not take any credit for the creation of these figures. The only part I would claim as my own would be my idea for the movie opening. The final outcome would be seen by my teacher and myself.
